It's My Birthday
Today, as I celebrate another birthday, I find myself taking a moment to reflect on the journey that brought me here — a journey marked by resilience, self-discovery, and a continuous pursuit of growth.
One of the defining chapters of this journey has been my career struggles. The path to success is rarely a straight line, and I’ve encountered my fair share of twists and turns. The challenges I faced weren’t just professional; they extended into my personal life, touching upon aspects that are often kept behind closed doors.
Losing friends, to be honest, was a wound that cut deep. Friendships that once felt unbreakable slipped through the cracks. It hurt, and the pain lingered. Yet, in those moments of loss, I found strength in solitude and learned to appreciate the connections that endure, no matter the distance.
A consistent thread in my professional narrative has been the iterative process of designing and redesigning my portfolio. Since 2022, it felt like an annual ritual, a dance with pixels and code. Each iteration was a reflection of my growth, an attempt to encapsulate my evolving skills and aesthetic sensibilities. It became a testament to my commitment to improvement, a commitment that persisted until towards the end of 2023 when, with the help of Framer, I finally felt the resonance of a portfolio that truly represented me and still captured the essence of who I am. The visual language, the interactive elements — it just felt like me.
The decision to take a JavaScript course with Joseph Brendan was another pivotal moment in my quest to upskill. However, sometimes the most profound realizations arise from unexpected places. As the course unfolded, I came face to face with the understanding that, while JavaScript is a powerful tool, it wasn’t the tool I needed to build the future I envisioned. It was a revelation, a pivot point, and a courageous acknowledgment of my true passions.
In the mosaic of these experiences, I discovered the essence of growth — not just in the victories but in the struggles, not just in the gains but in the losses. Each setback became a stepping stone, and every heartbreak, a lesson in resilience.
